I get asked a lot if I would write about learning to meditate, for those people who can’t for whatever reason take meditation lessons with me. So I’ll create a collection of meditations for you to try out along with hints and tips to help you all along.
I have studied many different kinds of meditation from various schools and religions, however everything that I teach is not in any way related to Religion or Spirituality, simply relaxation, wellbeing and self improvement.
Sweet Dreams
For times when you have trouble sleeping
- Ensure your room is quiet and a good temperature. Get into bed and turn out the lights and lie down in the darkness
- Stretch out on your back and get comfortable.Tense up your feet and legs as much as possible then release them. Tense up your torso front and back and release. Tense up your head, neck, face and arms as much as possible then release. Repeat 3 times
- Slowly breathe into your lower abdomen 20 times. Pay attention to your chest rising and falling and your abdomen lifting and falling. Count one breath after one in and one out breath. Count to 20
- Now on each in breathe breathe in PEACE, actually hear the word in your head as you inhale slowly PEEEEEACE. On each out breath, breathe out all of the negativity, tension and stress of the day, visualise a grey cloud of smoke leaving your body via your nostrils. Breathe in Peace, breathe out negativity. As you feel your body start to really relax and you get sleepy, breathe in Peace and breathe out SLEEEEP, again hearing the word in your head on each slow out breath. Continue until you fall asleep. If at any time other thoughts invade, simply ignore them and continue with your breathing.
